8 Best Singapore Beaches you Need to Visit

A ton of people flock to Singapore each year to experience its vibrant and modern city life, great shopping and food, but for the more adventurous, we recommend checking out some of the great Singapore Beaches on offer!

Before writing this article, we knew there were some great beaches in Singapore, but ended up finding a lot more that we never knew about! Turns out you can also do a bit of island hopping, and reach some tropical, white sand paradises!

So whether you are a foreigner on a business trip and need a break, or a local looking for a nice quiet place to take the family for a picnic, this list of the top Singapore beaches will definitely have something for you!

1. Sisters’ Islands

The Sister Islands, and their beaches, are two of Singapore’s southern most islands, and sport crystal clear waters, excellent for snorkeling. There is also the Sister Islands Marine Park, where you can try scuba diving or other activities.

There is also a local legend/story going around about the Sister’s Islands, having to do with human sacrifice, and how the islands were formed, so be sure to ask around for the real story when you arrive!

2. Siloso Beach

Siloso Beach is one of three beaches on the Singapore beach resort island of Sentosa (pictured above), which gets an astonishing 20 million visitors per year, so it must be good!

This might not be one of the most pristine beaches in Singapore, but it makes up for it with lots of options for water sports and local shops. There is also a continuous night life here, so get your drinks ready.

3. Changi Beach Park

Changi Beach is a popular outing for friends and family, and is generally only known by locals. This is probably because Changi Park is slightly off the grid, but the journey is worth it.

There is also the nearby Changi Village, where you can do some exploring, and get some good stuff to eat. This is definitely one of the more fun Singapore beaches you can visit.

4. East Coast Park

This park is one of the more popular locations for local families, with or without kids, to just come and hang out in the sand. Its a favorite spot for weekend barbeques and picnics, as well as cycling and roller-skating.

You will probably see a lot of sunset beach runners, as its a nice cool seaside jog. If you have kids, you can take them to the playground at Marine Cove, or out for some nice dining around Parkland Green.

5. Tanjong Beach

Tanjong Beach is well known as the party goer beach, but is also good for those family picnics, or taking your date to sit on the sand with a drink and great views.

A lot of these beaches, you will only see locals for the most part, as they are relatively unkown and tucked away like Tanjong beach is. But every one knows about the Tanjong Beach Club, so head there!

6. Lazarus Island

Just a ferry ride away from the mainland, Lazuras Island offers some white sand beaches away from the hustle and bustle. If you are into island hopping in paradise, this is the place to go!

There are a lot of great beaches in Singapore, but is you are looking for the ones on quiet islands, we definitely recommend heading to Lazarus.

7. St John Island

Here is another good option if you are looking to do some islands hopping. Take a ferry to St. John Islands, and head to one of the nice beaches there, surrounded by green and nature.

This is one of the more quieter islands, especially compared to beaches on the main land, so head to St John islands, in the southern area of Singapore, for some nice and quiet beach time.

8. Palawan Beach

Palawan beach is another one of the three beaches in the island of Sentosa, and a very popular one for tourists and locals alike.

This is probably the best beach in Singapore, and a lot of people would call it an “Instagrammable” one! So head here if you are visiting the island for water sports, or just want to hang out on a white beach next to warm waters.
