Mactan Island, Philippines
Mactan (also known as Lapu-Lapu) is an island located just off the coast of Cebu City. It’s a densely populated area which is connected to Cebu with two bridges. Here, you can find a wide variety of resorts catering to international guests. The southern part of the island is spectacular for diving and attracts scuba divers from around the world. Although it’s connected to Cebu with bridges, the fastest way to reach Mactan is by air.
The international airport on the island is served by many airlines who offer direct flights between Cebu and Mactan. Those that want to take a more scenic route can do so by taking the overnight ferry from Manila. The journey takes approximately 24 hours.
